A Controversy Paper
Abstract
Many people believe that everyone should take responsibility and vaccinate themselves and their kids. Others reject this idea because they either believe they should have the choice in deciding what goes in their bodies or they believe vaccinations to be much more harmful than how they are advertised. Vaccines have been known to increase overall public health in their communities, but this is not the case for every vaccine. Some vaccines produce harmful effects in their earlier stages, while others have saved countless lives on their first try. There are extensive rumors that vaccines taken together will produce ailments no one can cure, but does that make for a good argument? The main argument we discuss in this paper is whether or not vaccines should be mandated. You decide for yourself if you agree with the arguments either side makes about whether they should or should not establish a mandate. We concluded there should be a mandate because as time goes on, viruses will eventually mutate beyond the help of any vaccine. Vaccines will not only protect recipients from the severe symptoms of the viruses they are trying to protect themselves from, but will also impede viruses from spreading further and mutating on their own.
